    Hello,

    My name is Barbera, I am 25 years old and I'm from Holland. I don't speak German, but I'm looking for someone who could tell me more about the AVA-Peter clinic in Saint-Petersburg. We have an appointment there on the 1th of december, I have POF and need egg donation.
    Does anyone here have any expericience with this clinic?
    I can't find anyone in Holland who can tell me anything about this clinic.

    I hope there's someone here who can help me!

    Thanks for you reaction. I don't have any specific questions, I'm just very curious about everything... The doctors, the way the clinic looks, the way things work...
    And offcourse I hope to find some succes stories, like yours!
    Could you tell me your story? What was the reason you needed egg donation? How many embryotranfsers did you have?
    How much time was there between the intake and the first embryo transfer?
    How long did it take them to find a matching donor?
    When do you expect the twins? (Twins!! That's what we hope for...)

    Hello Barbera

    we also decided for Ava-Peter because of its reputation. We had our initial consultation in July and the transfer will be in December. Dr. Zaytseff cares about the foreign patients. She patiently answered all our questions and explained the whole procedure. She seems very professional and her/the results of the clinic are very good. The clinic is modern with European standard. The treatment started immediately after the consultation and the donor was found within a few days.

    Why did it take from July to December to have the transfer?
    We are hoping to have the transfer in February (going for the initial consultation in 2 weeks), is that too optimisitic?

    Hello Barbera,

    that should be possible.... but it can also also take a bit longer. In each case you need 6 weeks in advance for the visum, so it depends how qucik things are proceeding. Try to take everything easy; egg donation is not like bying butter in the supermarket and one has to take care of his own nerves and constitution.

    Dr Zaytseff is very careful, sensible and friendly; I felt very well in her hands and trusted her a lot. Russia itsself was a disadvantage for me; I found out I don't like that country so much. The clinic has a medium standard - concerning the things you see; I can't judge the medical quality.

    I had an embryo donation (Kryo), so this was no problem at all. The reason therefore were my problems with my immune system and the years I lost because these problemes were declared "not to exist" by standard medicine. So it took me years to find out the therapy.
    These twins are my children 2 and 3 ; this was the 3rd attempt (with immune therapy). The first one gave me a daughter, then a missed abortion, then twins; I'm due in December but think they will come earlier.

    Hello Barbera,

    Dr. Zaytseff offered us the transfer in September - but it is, like Romy just has described. Egg donation depends on several circumstances. In this case it was me, that means the membrane of my womb did not get prepared for the transfer in September. Due to vacation the transfer will now take place in December.

    So it is not impossible to have the transfer already in February, but...

    Romy, you must be very lucky! Sonnenstrahl, it's almost December... Are you nervous about it?

    In Holland it takes 5 to 10 bussinesdays to arrange a visa. It took us 5 days to arrange ours.
    I don't have a menstrual cycle of my own anymore, and during the IVF my uterine lining was growing good.
    So I hope these things won't cause any problems...
    We'll see.

    What did dr. Zaytseff tell you about your change of succes with egg donation?

    Oh, then your conditions are of course very good, Barbera. Nevertheless I would recommend a bit of "Inschallah" to every woman who has to take this thorny way to conceive.
    (I wonder why it takes so much longer in Germany to get the visa?)

    I think with egg donation you have a general chance of ca. 4o%/cycle, which summones to ca. 7o-8o% in 3-4 cycles. So the chances with egg donation are much better than with a normal IVF, at least, if you take German rates which of coure are lower than in other countries.

    I chose AVA Peter because I wanted directly a kryo embryo donation and my "old" clinic wanted to try an egg donation/fresh embryo donation first. Additionaly AVA Peter treated me much quicker and after a missed abortion (and my age of 45) this war an important argument as well.
