Schade.

Thank you for your enquiry and apologies for the delayed response.

North Cyprus IVF was established in 1998 and the first ISO 9001 qualified clinic in Northern Cyprus.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Savas Ozyigit is an accredited IVF Specialist with numerous publications and a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).

Cytoplasmic transfer is a treatment option offered to women in advanced age brackets who still have a certain level of ovarian function. In such cases, while we can obtain oocytes, they are less likely to be viable due to oocyte aging. What we can do with cytoplasmic transfer is to support these oocytes by providing them with a better host environment.

Even though cytoplasmic transfer and further processing of oocytes can increase our chance of success, we will still need to obtain viable oocytes during the IVF cycle. We would need to assess your hormone testing as well as an ultrasound scan results in order to see how likely we are to obtain multiple M2 grade oocytes.

If ovarian response is sub-optimal and we obtain less than desired number of M2 grade oocytes, one approach would be to perform two consecutive oocyte collections and perform cytoplasmic transfer after a sufficient number of oocytes have been achieved.

Aging of mitochondria is the main reason why we use Cytoplasmic Transfer. Whilst the procedure is not yet available in many countries, it has been used for several years at our clinic.
Since mitochondria are the location in a cell where cellular respiration and ATP production take place, defective mitochondria will fail to generate cellular energy and cellular growth. Therefore, we use a young and healthy egg donor for this procedure for the cytosol that contains healthy and younger mitochondria.
However, it is important to keep in mind that it is your own egg's DNA that will be used. Cytoplasmic transfer cannot alter DNA defects that come with age.

We need to see some ovarian function in order to qualify for this treatment, meaning AMH should be higher than 0.3 ng/ml.

It is also possible to Tandem Cycle- this is where we use the donor egg cytoplasm for your own eggs, but also fertilise the remaining donor eggs. This allows patient's to have backup embryos if they should wish to use them.

Success with cytoplasmic IVF treatment is slightly higher than standard IVF/ICSI treatments. There is a 5% difference between success rates of Cytoplasmic IVF and standard IVF/ICSI treatment, which is a significant percentage for older women. However, if hormone levels are not within range to allow for an IVF cycle, then we would suggest an Egg Donor cycle to achieve pregnancy.

The program cost is 6,000 Euros and includes your IVF ICSI, Dr consults, scans and monitoring on arrival. We also include Ercan airport pickups and transfers to your clinic appointments when you stay locally.

The first step would be to send any test results you have, or to have these tests performed:

    1) Hormone tests on day 2 or day 3 of your period: FSH, LH, Estradiol, Prolactin, TSH, AMH (Blood Tests).

    2) A basic trans-vaginal ultrasound scan to check your Antral Follicle count and to make sure there are no fibroids/polyps/free fluids in the uterus or cysts in the ovaries, or anything visible that can potentially interfere with a successful pregnancy process. The sonogram should also be performed on day 2 or day 3 of menstrual period.

    3) A CBC (Complete Blood Count) including Liver and Kidney function.

    4) Your partner's/husband's semen analysis and culture. If you require a sperm donor, samples are available at the clinic.

We will also require your infectious disease tests, but these will need to be performed shortly before your arrival. If they are performed at the clinic upon arrival, they cost 120 euros for the Female Partner:
Anti-HIV, Anti-HCV, HbsAg, VDRL, Rubella IgG, CMV IgG, and Toxoplasmosis IgG.

Male tests are 80 euros if performed at the clinic: Anti-HIV, Anti-HCV, HbsAg, VDRL.

After your test results have been checked by the Doctor, he will provide comments and if you're able to proceed, he will decide on the appropriate medication schedule for you. A script for medications is emailed to you and you will also have a step by step schedule to follow, which tells you precisely when you'll be taking your medications each day, when your scans are needed and the date you will both need to travel to Cyprus for egg retrieval and your IVF.
