Hello everyone, my wife and I are currently trying to have a child. Since it hasn't worked out so far, I wanted to get tested. Now I'm really depressed, unfortunately the spermiogram gave a very sobering result with immobility. The doctor has now recommended that I take "Multiprosti" for 30 days and have another spermiogram in 6-8 weeks.
Hence my question:
Does the longer waiting period of 9 days have anything to do with the poor result?
Does anyone know anything about this?
Can Multiprost or something else improve the result?
Are there any other remedies I could take?
Can anyone allay my fears that I won't have a child of my own?
Enclosed are the results (M/29 years)
Waiting time 9 days
Ejaculate - ejaculate volume: 10.0 mL
Sperm count - concentration: 12.4 million/mL
Total number of sperm: 124.0 million Motility
- Total motility (a+b+c): 10 %
- Progressive (a+b): 8 %
- of which fast progressive (a): 1 %
- Slow-progressive (b): 7 %
- Non-progressive (c): 2 %
- Immobility (d): 90 %
- Morphology
- Normal forms: 2 %
Other
- Round cells: no detection
Best wishes, may your day be better than mine today.

Hello Hiker94, welcome to the forum. I can understand that this must feel devastating at first. Our spermiogram back then wasn't good either. However, you also need to know that a semen analysis alone is never conclusive. For example, if you were ill with a fever, the result may be worse or if you had to take medication and sperm need about 3 months to regenerate. We definitely did Pimp my sperm, which improved the whole thing a lot, plus no sauna and no alcohol for my husband and later, on the advice of the Spanish clinic, turmeric in capsules. However, this must be taken separately as it is a powerful antioxidant and may render other supplements ineffective. It worked for us, but it takes patience and at least 3 months. Good luck

I can only agree with Conby, you can definitely help. From now on you should avoid medication (even simple things like Ibu), no hot baths/sauna, my husband (active cyclist) was advised to cut back here too. You should not smoke at all!
But even if the spermiogram doesn't improve, that doesn't mean that you won't have your own baby. Then you may have to have an ICSI. The sperm is injected directly into the egg.

Hello,
redoing the spermiogram really only makes sense after 3 months, because it takes 72 or more days for the sperm to reformLG

Hello Hiker94,
our spermiogram was even a little worse at the time. The Kiwu clinic immediately advised us to have ICSI (and we were still 25 years young at the time). My husband optimized everything for another 3 months and we had another one done with DNA fragmentation.
All the values had improved significantly, but the fragmentation rate is so high that ICSI was still necessary.I wish you all the best of luck on your journey and don't hang your head! 🍀
