Hi everyone,

We are a lesbian couple, and my younger wife brought a desire to have children into the relationship. Due to the age difference, it was clear to me that we would try the Ropa method. I don't need to tell you how long the preparation took and how stressful and exhausting it all is. We had a puncture in mid-August and had 12 great blastocysts. We had to cancel the transfer twice (help, my psyche ey) but yesterday was the day. Unfortunately, the chances are not so good as I suddenly had fluid in my uterus, and not a little. Well, let's see what happens maybe someone wants to join in the excitement 😃

It's your partner's eggs ... plus donor sperm and you're carrying???

How old are you and in which country did you have the IVF done?

Exactly! My wife donated her egg to me, fertilized with donor sperm.
I am 45.
We are undergoing treatment in Denmark.

Why did you have to abort ?

I am also 45 and gave birth to our daughter in June after a completely problem-free (EZS) pregnancy (except of course my psyche after 12 years of wanting to have children) 😍!!!!

Purehaeven, it's so good to hear that the whole thing can be worthwhile even after so many years. I'm very happy for you.

I'm having a puncture on Thursday, but unfortunately only 5 eggs, two of which were still pretty tiny yesterday.

My wife can't get pregnant (she is already 40) and I have had a very bad artificial insemination in DE (expensive OHSS, bowel injury) + additional IUI. I have just turned 34.

Now we are considering embryo adoption or sometimes IVF for me, although I am completely blocked inside at the moment. We've actually been at it since 2018 (with occasional breaks due to money and 2021-2023 due to corona)

We were in a clinic in Germany, a smaller one in Hesse. Now we'd rather go abroad.

strawberry maybe it will help you if you "restart" abroad ?!! Because at 34, your eggs should still be pretty good. And what you experienced is not normal - how can you injure the intestines 🫣????

Do you already have a country/clinic in mind?

Isiropa No, I've never had any therapy in 12 years. We got a "child" with four legs and fur (dog😉) in 2016 and because we used to fly a lot, we had to get a camper so we could continue traveling with him.
And my inner attitude has always been that I want to live my life as happily as possible despite wanting children and the associated disappointments, sadness etc. and not have to say at some point that I haven't lived over 10 years of my life...

Yes, and I've managed that quite well - step by step and never giving up was an option for me...

Admirable that you managed that! We're trying to do exactly the same, but I don't know if I could hold out that long. After "only" four years, I can already clearly see how it's getting harder and harder to cope with all the setbacks. But that probably won't have been any different for you? I just hope that things work out now and that I don't have to hold out for so long 🙏
