    Hello,

We had a treatment in Mallorca. Now it turns out that I took the wrong dose of Urbason. I was given 40 mg tablets instead of 4 mg. I had severe side effects. My coordinator was on vacation. Apparently she and the doctor are now on vacation again. There was no emergency appointment for after the transfer.
Can such an overdose of cortisone (80mg instead of 4mg daily) prevent implantation? ;(
We have done all the tests and treatments to try one last time. It is hard to understand that something like this can happen and that it was all for nothing.

You took 80 mg of cortisone? That's really quite a lot. I would definitely phase it out and not stop immediately!

I can't say whether this will prevent implantation, but I think the opposite is more likely to be the case. Your immune system has been properly suppressed.

This should never happen, where did you receive treatment?

We were in Ib Mallorca and were actually satisfied. But after the transfer there was suddenly no contact person. There was no emergency number and I was told I could leave immediately. We thought it was paid and done. Now the doctor and coordinator are probably on vacation again.

I'm not familiar with cortisone and can't answer your question. But such serious differences should not happen.

The fact that no one is available is a no-go. The clinic will have more than one doctor and more than one coordinator.....

It will be difficult to prove whether a TF (if it fails) failed because of this, or whether it would not have worked even without incorrect dosing. Nevertheless, I would try to hold the clinic accountable.

Really impossible from the clinic! Or was this messed up at the pharmacy?

If it did work out with the transfer, you should definitely reduce the dose as soon as possible, if you haven't already done so, so as not to risk malformations in the child. However, the critical time window is mainly from the 8th to 11th week of pregnancy, according to Embryotox. https://www.embryotox.de/arzneimittel/d…thylprednisolon

The transfer had already taken place. Of course it didn't work out. I only noticed when I was told to stop everything except the Urbason. Suddenly my doctor was on vacation and another doctor wrote me a more adapted tapering plan for the excessive dose. Everyone is now on vacation again, just like after the Trasfer. That's a strange coincidence. I went to the local pharmacy twice for the prescription. I don't know who made the mistake. I also noticed it too late.

Don't you have a copy of the prescription or the original in your records? What was really prescribed?

Yes, I found a prescription from the clinic signed off by the pharmacy and the clinic wrote it down incorrectly. Of course, no one from the clinic contacted me.

Then you can prove that the error happened there. That is absolutely unbelievable and negligent.

Mistakes can happen... but not being available and not working through it is not acceptable.

    Dear LetzteHoffnung,

We are very sorry that this has happened to you.
It is impossible to determine whether your negative test is due to this cortisone overdose. Too many factors can be responsible.
Of course mistakes can happen, and even in clinics where we strive to be as careful as possible, there is human error. What makes us very sad, however, is that we cannot offer you any answers or solutions at the moment. We hope that this is just an unfortunate confluence of circumstances and that you will find a solution together with your team.

    Yours sincerely

    Vida Fertility Team :heart_with_ribbon:

Thank you, yes mistakes happen. But nobody from the clinic gets in touch. That's no way to deal with clients. Everyone responsible is probably on vacation. It cost us a lot of money, effort and time. The clinic didn't suffer any damage, only we did.

Today we had a conversation with the doctor and she said the daily overdose of 80mg Urbason would not be so bad. Dr. Gavilan said that even 400mg of Urbason would still be tolerable. That is dangerous. My hair is still falling out, I have palpitations and muscle pain. We're thinking about getting a lawyer involved because the clinic just thinks it's not bad. Other women and their health are at risk.
We had expected to get an honest review and suggestions for another attempt. Instead, there were lies and cover-ups😔

We are looking for a new clinic.

Wow! Which clinic was that again? So that at least the women here in the forum are warned.

Phew, that's really crass. I think I would also get a lawyer and try to get the money for the treatment back and compensation/pay for pain and suffering. That's a really strong piece. I'm very sorry that you had to go through this experience. As if the Kiwu way wasn't hard enough already...
