Hello,
After 6 pregnancies, my husband and I are now considering going to Vida Fertility in Madrid. However, we are not considering egg donation but are looking for better care and more diagnostic options for habitual miscarriages.
Our 6 pregnancies have all occurred naturally. They ended once in the 10th week of pregnancy after a heartbeat, then always before the 6th week of pregnancy without an embryo. Due to three scrapings, I have Asherman's syndrome (diagnosed as mild and operated on), to which I attribute three very early miscarriages. But there are still three unexplained ones...
The diagnoses we have are that I have Hashimoto's (well controlled), a prothrombin mutation (which is why I was injected with heparin). Immunology, genetics and spermiogram as well as hormone picture were unremarkable. So I usually get pregnant after a few months, but it doesn't develop properly.
Now my doctor wants to carry out an ICSI here in Germany, which I think is a good idea. The only question is whether there is a better chance of it working - getting pregnant hasn't been the biggest problem so far, but staying pregnant. She wants to give oestrogen in advance and then cortisone. However, I am very afraid of further miscarriages because of the risks of scrapings, which cannot always be avoided.
My questions are:
- Does it make more sense to go straight to Spain, even if we then have no health insurance support, as PGT-A could be done there? Here in Germany they would only look through the microscope to see if a blastocyst is developing. But that doesn't mean that it will hold better than previous pregnancies.
- Is Vida Fertlity also familiar with habitual abortions (without EZS) and Asherman? Is this "also treated"?
- Does it make sense to stay in Spain for a while - i.e. 2-3 months - or do many KiWu clinics in Germany cooperate with them so that, for example, stimulation can be accompanied in Germany?
I am happy to receive advice in this really overwhelming time of trying to conceive!
Best regards
Hannah
