Granocyte with KIR AA

    Dear Dr. Izquierdo,

    I was a patient of yours in Alicante in 2022. After many unsuccessful attempts, you were the first doctor to discover that as a couple we are different genotypes. I am KIR AA and my boyfriend has HLA-C: C2/C1. Since visiting you, we have never had a transfer.

    But now the time has come and in 3 weeks there will be a transfer in Austria with 1 cryoblastocyst. Granozyte will now be used for the first time. The clinic has no experience with Granozyte. Our doctor recommends 2 x 13 million IU per week until the 12th week of pregnancy. So 1 injection every 3 days. I am now in the 2nd day of my cycle and have already started with the 1st injection of Granozyte.

    We lack confidence in the clinic. That's why we're asking you directly what your recommendation is regarding the dosage for Granozyte. Especially after the transfer. How many IU and at what interval (DAYS) would you inject Granozyte?

    We can still vaguely remember that you spoke of 34 IU and on 5 subsequent days after the transfer, then every 3rd day.

    This would therefore be a significantly higher dose than our doctor recommends.

    Please see attached our lab results from Genetics, which you arranged at the time in Alicante.

    We hope so much that it works. And it would be a shame if we didn't use Granozyte correctly.

    Thank you for your patience. As my team has already replied, Dr. Izquierdo is no longer with Vida, but we are glad that he was able to help you understand your case better.

    Regarding your question, immunologic treatments should be prescribed by experts in the field. At Vida we ALWAYS have the professional support and medical prescription of one of our partner immunologists who are experts in the field of fertility.

    The use of Granocyte is not part of a standard KiWus treatment, and its administration and dosage should be individualized, with blood tests (blood count, leukocytes, etc.) before and after treatment monitored by the immunologist.

    Unfortunately, my answer comes after your embryo transfer and I hope you can clarify this with your clinic. I didn't want to leave you (and the community) without an answer, and feel free to contact me if you still have questions, but my best advice is to always seek answers from experts. This can be done through immunologists who are experts in fertility in Germany/Switzerland, or through your fertility clinic, which ideally works with such experts itself.
