    Hello dear team of experts,

I received a positive pregnancy test on Monday with E2 148, HCG 1200 and progesterone 15.4.

I am currently taking 400-0-400 Seidigestan (6+18h) and 1x Protulex (19:30h). On Thursday I had a blood test for something else and had my progesterone level taken. It was 11.8 and the value has dropped. Can the value fluctuate and as long as it is above 10 it is ok or is this a sign of a miscarriage? Should I change the progesterone dosage?

I am currently taking Seidigestan. This product is not available in Germany. An alternative would be Utrogest or Cyclogest. Is there a recommendation as to which is better/works better?

    Thank you very much

    Dear SoZi,

Progesterone levels can fluctuate, but must always be above 10.

As for Utrogest and Cyclogest, both are the same as Seidigestan. Perhaps Cyclogest at 400 mg is more practical because you only have to take 1 egg. But that's the only difference.

For me, it is important to check the beta-HCG level at the same time as the progesterone level. Depending on how well the HCG develops, you can take care of the fluctuations in P4.

    Yours sincerely

    Dr. Santiago.

Hello, I hope it's okay if I post this question here:

I am also currently taking Seidigestan, which is not available here. I had already bought Utrogest in Germany and then realized shortly before the transfer that it can only be taken orally, according to the package leaflet. So I quickly went to Spain and got some Seidigestan.

What exactly would I have to get in Germany because, as I said, Utrogest says that it is taken orally and it didn't come with an applicator like Seidigestan.

    Thank you very much!

You can take both Utrogest and Famenita vaginally, even if it says oral.

Otherwise there are also Cyclogest suppositories, but they have a higher dose of 400mg. So it depends on how many mg you should take.

There is now also utrogest luteal. It is basically the same as uteogest for oral use, but is approved for vaginal use. This is important because after a positive SSF test you can get utrogest luteal or cyclogest on prescription.

    Hello

I used Utrogest after Seidigestan. This can also be taken vaginally, but has no official approval for this. Utrogest luteal is officially approved for vaginal use and is therefore much more expensive.

    Dear Nes,

yes, as others have already mentioned, the vaginal use of Utrogest is safe. Almost all of our German patients are in the same situation with the medication available in Germany and this is absolutely not a problem.

I apologize for the delay in replying.
    Yours sincerely,
    Dr. Zermiani.
