Hello,
I'm here to ask you about your experiences with the above examination:
Brief background:
My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 1 1/2 years.
A few months ago I went to the Kiwu Clinic in Potsdam for an examination.
Everything was fine hormonally, but the examination of the ovaries using the above-mentioned method did not reveal any patency.
That was a shock at first and still is. When I asked if there were any ways of examining the fallopian tubes more closely or freeing them, I was told that this is no longer done these days.
So far so good. I am unsettled because I found a review of the center in Potsdam in which this method of checking the fallopian tubes was criticized. The woman went to another clinic in Berlin for a second opinion and there, using a different method, it was determined that her fallopian tubes were tip-top clear and she then became pregnant naturally.
Unfortunately, I can't contact the woman via Google, so my question is for you:
Has anyone had similar experiences with this method and can you recommend a good center in Berlin that uses a different method?
Kind regards Maxi

Dear Jellyfisch
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Hysterosalpingography is a straightforward test and in fact the first test that should be done if IUI is the best fertility treatment for you. Here at Vida, we perform it either in the traditional way with a liquid or with a foam that gives us a better view of the fallopian tube on the monitor. As a patient, you should never be in doubt about your diagnosis and should not hesitate to seek a second opinion if it gives you peace of mind. We have no particular affiliation with a clinic in Berlin, but as I said, it is a simple test that any fertility clinic can perform without any problems.
Now I just have doubts as to whether IUI is the right treatment for you. In reproductive medicine, this treatment is the least effective, as we can't control a single step of fertilization. And I must admit that it is not recommended to many patients.
Please do not hesitate to send me the details of your case privately (contact@vidafertility.com) so that I can already give you a first medical opinion. Because if you need IVF, your fallopian tubes do not have to be permeable.
Yours sincerely,
Dr. Spies
