If the cycle is artificial/hormonal anyway, you can really plan the whole protocol and you would only have to go to the clinic twice. Some clinics also offer a postial semen sample collection service, but this is usually more expensive than the journey itself.

About adoption: (no in-depth knowledge, just picked this up) I don't think there is an official maximum age, the recommendation is 40. Various things are taken into account, such as finances, health, environment etc.. However, it is indeed more difficult to adopt a newborn the older you get. On the other hand, an older child would be more likely, because then the recommended age of 40 can be adhered to.

There are many obstacles to adoption.

However, these also vary from district to district.

Some, for example, want the couple to live in property. Others require that you have never been in psychological treatment before.

These are things that I find terrible.... but adoption is a long and certainly not an easy path.

There is also the option of taking in permanent foster children. There is no age limit and foster parents are always being sought. However, you have to be aware that these are very often children who have been traumatized (neglect, abuse, violence) or have behavioural problems, e.g. due to alcohol during pregnancy (FASD). You have to think carefully about whether you have the confidence to do this.

I exclude foster children. For professional reasons, I know how challenging they often are. I am registered for adoption counseling. I wasn't turned down because of my age.

I saw my gynecologist yesterday. She said the operation went well. I had ovulated again and should wait one cycle before having unprotected intercourse. I was still young enough to try it this way and didn't need to resort to other methods. I told her that I was afraid of further pregnancies. We agreed that she would prescribe me heparin if it happened.
And we arranged a phone call to discuss the results of the test. She said that every fifth pregnancy lasts and that I therefore had a good chance.
I was pleased that my body was still working. Emotionally, I'm nowhere near ready to try again.

I no longer rule out egg donation for myself. But I think it makes sense to first find out the reason why nothing wants to stay. I've already been pregnant twice. That's where the fault lies somewhere.

Are the initial consultations in clinics abroad always on site? Or also online?

I still don't have the results of my tests... frustrating.

And then back on site for the transfer.

You can choose this, sometimes an on-site consultation makes sense, because then the sperm can be frozen, for example.

I did a coaching session because I can't find a therapy place. The thing is, having children is not my priority right now. I want to get healthy, calm my thyroid, lose weight, have my ADHD treated, support my husband and many other things. I don't have time for a child right now. And no money either.

I know what consequences that can have. At the moment, any attempt would fail. I'm convinced of that.

Poor corduroy sofa! You're doing exactly the right thing. Take all the time you need to look after your health, your psyche, your body and your life. It won't be too late for egg donation, even in a few years' time.

Last year I put on so much weight that it's not worth trying. I'll get the new coagulation values in mid-January. Two of them were abnormal.
I also have appointments with the endocrinologist and a nuclear medicine specialist.

Sport and a healthy diet are planned. I hope to get everything under control, otherwise I don't need to think about another implantation.

After all, my husband has a job interview in January. One of over 40 applications. So much for a shortage of skilled workers.

I received confirmation of antiphosphorlipid syndrome yesterday. Maybe I'll discuss it at the clinic.

The tests with the endocrinologist are still ongoing.

I will see a new psychiatrist on Friday.

I had a positive test today. Lots of thoughts about what could go wrong this time. My doctor isn't back until Tuesday. I'm going there then to get a prescription for heparin. At the moment I don't dare to be happy.
