I hope this is ok to write in English. My German is not fluent enough. I've been trying to get pregnant for 2 years now and I suspect my age to be my biggest problem (I'll turn 40 in 2 weeks). But I don't know really and my obgyn doesn't want to hear the word egg donation, or about advances tests. That's why I'm considering to go to Spain. I'm not 100% against the idea of an egg donor but only if strictly necessary. How can I know what to do? Financially, I can't do an IVF cycle "just in case" and then do an Egg Donation one... This is so much pressure and I would appreciate to know your professional opinion. Thanks
Do I need eggdonation?

Have you been to a fertility clinic instead of a normal gyn for advice?
I would suggest to look for that one first and ask for a consultation. Maybe they can discuss chances with you before you go to spain.
Where do you live?

Hi Fliege,
I live in Frankfurt. Yes, sorry I said ObGyn but he is a Fertility gyn from a fertility clinic. Since I moved to Germany I had no normal ObGyn and since my concern was to be able to conceive I directly went to a fertility clinic. This was a terrible consultation, almost laughed at me and I cried for 2 days after that. Maybe this was just bad luck and I should try another one but my partner was super angry and as he has family living in Spain he wants to go straight there.

I would definetly try a second fertility clinic at Frankfurt and ask for advice. No patient should cry after a consultation! You still have time to discuss egg donation after this second appointment.
I wish u all the and I am sorry that u had such a Bad experience. Oskar

Yeah, I can only confirm what Oskar says. I would seek a second opinion. I went to two fertility clinics (Düsseldoef & Cologne) in Germany before going to Prague and both were really understanding and supportive.
But I guess that is a bit far for you.
