    Hello everyone!
Tell me, what did you take when you were or are ill during pregnancy? Paracetamol or ibu?

Hello Sunny82 I took Ibu. You can only stop taking it in the last trimester of pregnancy. I had corona in the 18th week of pregnancy and wouldn't have been able to cope without Ibu. Have a look at Embryotox. Good improvement.

I take paracetamol. I can't "suffer" and take it with caution, but when I need it.

You shouldn't suffer with pain either. Because this is also a state of stress for the body and therefore painkillers are quite sensible and appropriate instead of "enduring" pain.

I took paracetamol for my migraine. I was told by the doctors that 3x2 a day would be ok and it would probably not reach the placenta. In fact, low doses of Ibu would probably be ok from the 2nd trimester onwards. But I didn't take it.

Sunny82 I'm probably a bit late, but I would go with Embryotox's recommendation: Ibu or paracetamol in the 1st and 2nd trimester, paracetamol in the 3rd.

Me again, I somehow overlooked the last page, so my post wasn't needed ;)

Conby Thanks for the tip about the iron supplement, I've now got myself some and my midwife said it's really well absorbed. I'm looking forward to it.

Jam76 Great that you can manage without injections with the diabetes.

Coco_F Great to read from you! Were they able to get your fasting value after all?

I had another checkup last week at 29+1 (yay, week 30!). The little one has grown a little less than before (slightly slipped from the 50th percentile), I hope that this was just a one-off, but my doctor also had a lot of trouble with measuring and said it was already difficult now. In 2.5 weeks I have my 3rd screening with an ultrasound expert, so we'll see how she measures then. In the meantime, I have decided to give birth in a birthing center and will be allowed to go there for check-ups from the 37th week. The standard appointment is made at 30 weeks - I was very happy that I was allowed to make this call. The birth is slowly becoming foreseeable. I still have fears, but I am also happy about every milestone and every movement and trust in my body and my child.

You're very welcome 😉 I'm very enthusiastic about it myself, especially as it has a much lower dose due to its good bioavailability and therefore doesn't cause any digestive problems, which iron supplements tend to do.

It's great that you can go to a birth center. That can certainly be a very good experience. I think you can probably be much more self-determined there than in hospital. It's your first child, isn't it?

Exactly, I really hope that the birth there will be more peaceful, calmer and with less intervention. It's my second child (with two asterisks in between), the big one will be 6 in December :)

Hello everyone, I'm getting in touch again. First of all, congratulations to all the new pregnant women and all the best for the future!

We have finally received a donor proposal from Aarhus. But I'm still not sure whether we want to accept it now. On the one hand, the donor has half Creole-Mauritanian roots (the mother comes from Mauritius) and the other half Danish. In the photo of the child she looks more Danish than Creole, light brown soft curls, dark green eyes. But our first daughter has light blonde, straight hair and light blue-green eyes, and we are also rather dark blonde, straight-haired and blue-green-eyed. On the other hand, it wouldn't actually be so bad if the siblings didn't look so similar or the child didn't look so similar to us, as we are quite open about the subject of egg donation. On the other hand, we don't necessarily want to provoke questions from strangers by looking too different for the sake of the child... What do you think?

The other problem is that I just started a new job two days ago. So accepting the proposal now would mean risking getting pregnant during the probationary period. I know that this is not a problem in terms of employment law, my last pregnancy also began during my probationary period. But it would feel a bit stupid towards my colleagues and superiors. The position had been vacant for a few months due to a redundancy and I was eagerly awaited (I still had three months' notice at my old job) so that the "store" could finally get going again. The job change was also a great opportunity for me (I like the job much better, it's more family-friendly and better paid), so I took it now despite wanting to have children.

So in principle I have three options:

    a) Reject the proposal and wait for the next one

    b) Accept the proposal, but postpone the cryotransfer for a few months

    c) Accept the proposal and do the transfer during the Christmas vacations and risk getting pregnant during the trial period

Oh yes, the age gap between the two children would already be 4.5 years with option c), which would of course increase the longer we wait...

What advice would you give me?

Nini For me it would depend on how long you would have to wait for a new proposal. According to your text, there are two reasons (parentage of donor and new job) that speak against accepting at this point in time. I would probably lean towards option a), but I am also someone who feels quite committed to the job. Would waiting be no problem for your age?

I don't see the age gap as an obstacle, it will be 6 years for us and the older one will be much more understanding that not everything revolves around him and will also be able to help. I had once wished for an age gap of 3 years, but in hindsight I think it's a good fit.

Thank you for your message, Suleyka! I have now actually opted for option a), i.e. rejected the donor suggestion, after I had made sure that we would not be put at the end of the waiting list again, but would get the next suitable suggestion.

It's good that you wrote that about the age gap, that reassures me a little! I'm looking forward to hearing about your experiences later when your baby arrives! I actually wanted a gap of 3 years and was constantly impatient and tense last year because the gap was getting bigger and bigger and I was worried that the siblings might not be able to do anything together. But now I think it doesn't really matter whether it's 4.5 or 5.5 (or 6.5...) years. They won't be play partners of the same age anyway. But my daughter loves babies and younger children and has been playing doll mommy all the time for months, she's sure to be a loving big sister!

Nini I'm glad that you'll be receiving the next proposal as soon as possible. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it works :) As far as the age gap is concerned, I'm just so happy that it worked out again. I'll be happy to report back when the little one arrives.

I had another check-up last week at 32+4, fortunately the little boy is back on the percentile. I had to work really hard to have more than just one check-up before the birth (only one more was planned at 37+4). Now I can go again in just under 2 weeks, then once to the birth center and again to the doctor around the ET (if still necessary). I just need regular check-ups at the end, it's good for me psychologically. I'm very excited about the little one and hope that he won't take until the due date.

    Hello everyone,

how is everyone here doing now?

Suleyka: When is your ET? Not long now, is it? I'm 35+2 today :)

Nini: How have you been getting on?

Conby: I've now also got the iron supplement. But I've also seen that it contains significantly less iron than ferro sanol, for example. Is it still equivalent because it is better absorbed? I've been terribly tired for a few days and now I don't know whether this is perhaps too little iron and I should change again.

About me: it's slowly becoming quite difficult. Shoes and socks or tights are really stupid ;) But I know what it's for. In the last few weeks we've finally had the courage to get everything ready with the bed, changing unit etc. But as we approach the last few meters, I notice a growing worry as to whether everything will go well. In the end, the worries will probably never end, I don't know. I still can't imagine our little worm in my arms. I think that's because I have no idea what it will look like, or rather I know that it won't have anything to do with me. It's always a funny thought and I just hope that it will simply go away when I have it in my arms.

    Have a great Tuesday! :*

Dear Jam76, it is true that there is actually much, much less iron in it than in other products. The advantage of the very good bioavailability is that you have to supply the body with much less iron in order to absorb as much or even more of it than from other higher-dose preparations. Iron often puts a strain on the digestive tract, which can lead to abdominal pain or constipation. You don't actually get that with this preparation.

I had an Hb value of 8.6 after the birth and thanks to these tablets, albeit with a double dose, I had a normal Hb value of just under 12 again after 6 weeks at the check-up.

And fatigue simply increases enormously at the end of pregnancy :) There's a reason for maternity leave. All the best for you, almost there:-)

Jam76 the thought that the child could be strange is mainly in your head. The emotions when you hold the little worm in your arms will tell you that it is exactly your child and perfect with everything it brings.

Our daughter is now two and I very often forget her special story. Siw is my child with everything she brings with her.

Thank you for the information and wishes!<3 I have now also switched to taking twice the daily dose, i.e. four capsules a day. When I was last so tired, I had an iron level of around 11. When I then took ferro sanol and the value rose, I immediately felt better.

    Dear Jam,

I have a child from my own DC and he looks and looked nothing like me. It also took me weeks to get used to his appearance. I had somehow imagined him differently 😛 but I loved him from the start and you just can't imagine it until the child is in your arms. And no, I'm not one of those women who say it was the best day of my life. It was simply a very long and border-crossing day and at the end we were both completely exhausted. I was only able to admire him the next day and that's when the getting to know each other begins. It's just a person you get to know first, even if they've been there for months as a subtenant🤪

Don't stress yourself! Having children is and remains an adventure!

    Hello everyone,

I'm getting in touch again. I'm now at 36+0. It's incredible, the time has gone by so quickly and I'm already in the final spurt. Of course, I'm also pretty tired and sluggish, but I'm treating myself as much as I can. I go to bed early and leave my husband to make breakfast for the kids and take them to school in the morning. And if he's not there (like right now) then I just get up at 6:00 and then go back to sleep when the kids are gone.

Jam76 I'm also so excited to see what my little one will be like. What she will look like, when she will arrive and what the first few days will be like. Sometimes I'm still afraid that something will go wrong in the last few meters, but then I feel her little legs or her hiccups again and then I know it's all good. Although she is probably rather delicate. I went to my gynaecologist yesterday and she estimates 2500g and a rather narrow head. But well then maybe she'll come out easier, maybe I'll manage a birth without stitches this time. That would be great.

If she's not there at the ET they want to induce me. I hope my baby comes before the ET. I would like to avoid that. Otherwise I'm practising my hypnobirthing stuff and that's good for me, even if I don't always feel like it. These relaxation things just aren't mine, even though they do me good. A bit of a paradox, I know :)

I'm slowly having to pack my clinic bag too. And yes, I also took my time getting things for the little one. We still have a lot, but some things had to be bought. The last item for her should be arriving soon.
Now I'm thinking about what I need to make sure I'm comfortable in the early days. What I want to take with me to the hospital, what my feel-good things are. For example, I asked my husband to cook me a beef broth and then bring it to me. When I had corona during my pregnancy, I was already feeling pretty bad and his broth really helped a lot.
As you can see, I'm already fully prepared for the baby and most of my thoughts are revolving around it.

I hope you are all doing well so far. Enjoy your miracles in the belly if you can and have a lovely Christmas.

    Best wishes Coco

    Dear Coco_F,

I am currently 32 weeks pregnant and I am struggling daily with more tiredness and less patience with the emotional extremes of my 2 year old.

Grandma and my sister-in-law's help is organized, even though they both have to come from more or less further away, but it will be ok .

Fortunately, my gynaecologist is also letting me carry over for a few days, so I'm hoping to have a natural birth this time ...

In any case, I wish you all the best and a completely complication-free birth!
